Snail

Hi everybody! How was your Valentine's Day?
I am still unpacking here and there... feels like it will never end.. ;p
The moving reminded me of one of my older pieces "Snail." (which was sold during my solo show last year)

These are the idea sketches.
First, I was thinking about doing more autumn theme for those falling leaves. (on left)
But I wanted to put my guys in one big inner tube with their bathing suits. (on right)
So I guess it became a more summerish theme.

Here are my color sketches. I was thinking back and force between red and orange.
I chose orange because I thought it would work better with other colors on the canvas and represent sun shine in summer more.

Like I mentioned earlier, this piece reminded of moving, because they are actually moving!
not from one house to another, but one tree to another (they live in the forest).
While they are moving, they met this fella who was lost.
So they decided to find his home. Adventure to the ocean!
