Hello there!
Today I would like to share a little experiment I did a couple month ago..
These guys! Yup. Customized vinyl toys ;)) This time I used Raffy and Trikky (blank toys from Kidrobot).
First, I did a little doodle for the rough design.

umm.. it was cleaner looking until I accidentally spilled red ink over the sketch.. ;q
Anyhow, first I took a part and dremeled a hole on its body.

I found out that making a tiny hole with a pushpin before the use of dremel would keep the tip of the dremel in one spot.. not wobble around the surface.. yea.. I learned it in the hard way ;q
Making a hole is easy but filling a hole smoothly is.. HARD. ;((
I have used paper, stuffing, cardboard, etc.. before I smoothed up with Magic Sculpt.
Nothing worked well.. so this time, another brilliant idea from Mr. J, I tried a can of expanding foam.

It was stickier and waaaaaay more expandable than I thought ;q but after it dried, I could dremel and apply the Magic Sculp.
Super easy! ;)))

Just like that! >:q
From there, I just painted with my normal acrylics.
aaaaaand tada!

and their back ;))

Overall, the expanding foam works the best for what I do.
But one thing, the foam did expand a LOT which caused slight puffiness on the back of their feet :|
So next time, I will probably make a tiny hole on a foot to let all the extra foam out ;))
Anyhow, I enjoyed experimenting new material and learned a lot! >;q
Can't wait to try more! and more!!!
Thank you for checking my blog ;)))
aaaaand see you next time!
